Coaching the Coach: Helping Leaders Change

A Group Coaching Series

You work with leaders who are trying to change.  They sometimes get in their own way, and you’re tasked with helping them identify the obstacles and find a way through them. If you’re not quite sure what will help, bring those situations to this program and we’ll think about them together in the intimacy of a small group of 6-8 people.

Here are some situations we often encounter:

  • A leader wants their team to take more ownership, but keeps stepping in with the answer.
  • A leader says they want candid feedback, but becomes defensive when people disagree.
  • A leader knows they need to delegate, but has trouble trusting others to do the work well.

In each session, one participant will bring a real situation from their work, and the group will collectively coach the case presenter, helping them explore the challenge, reframe it and/or gain a new perspective on it.

My role will be to create the container, facilitate the conversation and bring my own coaching questions and perspectives.

Benefits:

  • For the case presenter: Gain clarity about how to approach the situation.
  • For everyone: Learn from the experience, questions, and perspectives of others — and enjoy the camaraderie of a learning community.

Who this is for: Coaches and consultants who work with leaders.
